My nephew, he always shows me some fancy things, you know, those shiny things. This time it’s a watch, a really shiny one. He says it’s called ImitationJaeger-LeCoultre, or something like that. Sounds fancy, huh? He says this one is hot, it’s called JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph.
He said some folks they like buyin’ these fake ones, ’cause the real ones, they’re too much money. Some say, “I want a good fake one, a JLC Reverso replica.” I don’t get it. A watch is a watch, right? Just tells the time.
This Watch, It Flips!
This watch, it’s different. It flips! Yeah, you heard me, it flips over. One side got the clock, the other side, just shiny metal. Some got two clocks though, can you believe it. They call it Reverso, ’cause it reverses. Smart, huh? They say it’s a big deal, this Reverso thing, started way back, 1931 I heard, real old.
There this kind, Reverso Tribute Chronograph, it’s like two watches in one. And it’s hard to make, they say, ’cause it’s all squished in a little box. Not round, like other watches, it’s like a little box on your wrist. And they cost a lot, these Reverso Tribute Chronograph, more than the regular ones, because it’s special I guess.
- This flippy watch, they call it Reverso.
- One kind, Tribute Chronograph, it’s like two in one!
- It’s a little box, not a circle, on your wrist.
- Real ones cost a lot, so some folks buy fake ones.
Why Folks Like These Flippy Watches?
People, they like these watches a lot. They go crazy for ’em. This Jaeger-LeCoultre thing, been around a long time. Used to be just LeCoultre, but then in 1985, it became Jaeger-LeCoultre. Don’t ask me why, I just know what I heard.
They say this Reverso, it’s not just for telling time. It’s like, fancy art or something. Some people, they pay big money for ’em, even more than the store price! My nephew, he says it’s ’cause they’re special, like a treasure. The gray market or something, they selling it there for a lot of money.
There’s a bunch of these Reverso watches. One of them, they call it Caliber 822. It’s skinny, they say, real thin. And you gotta wind it yourself, no batteries. And this one doesn’t flip, just one clock face. They say this Caliber 822 is good, really good, that’s why they use it.
Inside the Watch, Tiny Gears
Inside these watches, it’s like a whole other world. Tiny little wheels, all working together. They call ’em movements. This Reverso Tribute Chronograph, it’s got a special one, called Caliber 846. Fancy name for tiny wheels, I guess. They are really small and delicate.
Some of these watches, they’re made of metal, shiny metal. Some are silver color, some are gold color. They got numbers on ’em, sometimes they use sticks instead of numbers, make it look fancy, I suppose. And the hands, the things that point to the time, sometimes they’re blue. Blue metal, can you believe it? They call it blue steel hands, I think this JLC Reverso all have blue steel hands.
This JLC Reverso is 45 x 27mm, big or small? I don’t know, but it is not round, it is rectangular. One side is silvered dial, blue steel hands, and Arabic numerals.
Real or Fake, Who Knows?
Some folks, they say they got a real one, been in the family for years. But then they look it up, and it’s not the same. They say, “Is this fake?” This one guy, he showed a number, 295859, said it was a Grand Sport model. But maybe it’s not, who knows? These ImitationJaeger-LeCoultre, they’re everywhere, I guess.
I don’t know much about these fancy things. But my nephew, he sure does. He says these ImitationJaeger-LeCoultre, especially the JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph ones, they’re a big deal. People like ’em, real ones, fake ones, doesn’t matter. They just like that flippy thing, I guess. I still don’t understand why they need two watches on one wrist, but hey, who am I to say?
These specialty stores, they sell all kinds of these watches. So if you want one, a flippy one, a Reverso, you go there. But be careful, make sure it’s a real one, unless you want a fake one. Then I guess it doesn’t matter. Just don’t get fooled, that’s all I’m saying.
