So, I got this idea to try and remake a Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Mini-Bag. You know, the classic one. I’ve always loved those iconic bags, especially the ones inspired by Prada’s old-school designs. They just have this timeless vibe that’s hard to beat. I found online that Prada has a whole collection of these reimagined icons and new leather bags, which got me even more excited.
First things first, I needed to get a good look at the real deal. I spent hours looking at pictures online, trying to get every detail right in my head. I checked out different colors and styles, but in the end, I decided to stick with the classic look.
Next up, materials. This was tricky. I wanted to get as close as possible to the original, so I spent a good chunk of time researching Saffiano leather. Turns out, it’s not just about the leather itself, but also how it’s treated. I found a few places that sell similar leather and ordered some samples. It took a while to find one that felt just right, but I did it!
- I started by making a pattern. This was a lot of trial and error. I sketched out the basic shapes, cut them out of paper, and then started playing around with them. I wanted to make sure the proportions were just right, so I compared my paper pattern to the pictures I had saved.

The Finishing
The most satisfying part was seeing it all come together. Attaching the hardware, adding the lining, and seeing the final shape take form. It was like watching a puzzle being completed.
